Stir-fried Asparagus

Chinese tradition holds that there is an energy that is positive and a negative energy that exists in the universe. "Yin" represents negative energy while "yang" represents positive energy. 3 They must be balanced in order to achieve an harmonious and healthy environment otherwise conflict and illness can be caused. Some elements are part of the two "yin" and " yang," which means that some elements of yin belong to the yang, while some elements of yang are part of the yin. This notion of balancing forces is an integral part of Chinese philosophy for hundreds of years. It has evolved into a standard principle for all aspects of social, political as well as medical and dietary use.

Foods of the yin (also called "cold" food) are bitter winter melon, melon, Chinese the greens, mustard greens water crest Napa cabbage beans, bean sprouts soybean, mung bean, water chestnut, tulip citrus, watermelon, cilantro and coconuts, as well as bananas cucumber, beer pop, frozen ice cream grass jelly, ice chips oysters, clams, and other oysters. These are not foods to be consumed in large quantities and may cause stomachaches, diarrhea weakness, dizziness, and coldness throughout the body when consumed.
